Cancelled: Daily Painting: Embrace the Practice (2-day intensive)

April 1 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

This class has been postponed/cancelled due to low enrollment
2-day Intensive
Instructor: Lisa Daria Kennedy
Register here.
I mark each day with a painting.
After 2700 days (including Christmas) I’ve no intention of stopping. I use painting as an insistent act of documentation and with it, record weeks, months, and years. Collectively, painting for me, becomes a timeline of choices and happenstance. Having cancer as a young adult, I discovered living is not just surviving. I want to embrace each day, no matter how typical, so without excuse or hesitation, I begin each day by painting.

My two -day workshop will embrace the painting process and the importance of daily practice as a path to improving creativity and image making skills. Over the course of the workshop students will paint at least 10 panels.  A combination of demos, in-class assignments and individual instruction will teach students techniques to create fresh, deliberate marks. Using acrylic or oil paint students will discover approaches to simplify the process of painting and ways to stay inspired and motivated. Continuous painting is by far the most effective way to improve creativity and painting skills.
All levels of painters are welcome.
Tuition: $225.
