Please join us for a double feature highlighting local poetic talent from the English Department at MCLA. Zack Finch and D. Gilson will read from recent work. Gilson is a poet, essayist, queer theorist, and editor of the lunch review: and Zack Finch, poet-at-large, is the Hardman co-scholar for the English Department at MCLA, and organizer of the English / Communications Department’s Creative Writers-in-Residence series. Bios below.


Zack Finch’s poetry and essays have been published in American Letters & Commentary, Boston Review, Fence, Jacket2, Poetry, Tin House and elsewhere, and he is the author of two collaborations with visual artists: Chiasmus with Enrico Riley (Fourth & Verse, 2013) and Ten Ounces with Melanie Mowinksi (Press Gallery, 2016).  He is an assistant professor in English/Communications at MCLA.

Gilson is the author of I Will Say This Exactly One Time: Essays (2015); Crush with Will Stockton (2014); Brit Lit (2013); and Catch & Release (2012), winner of the Robin Becker Prize. His forthcoming book project, Jesus Freak, is under contract with Bloomsbury as part of their 33 1/3 series. He is Assistant Professor of English at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and his work has appeared in Threepenny Review, PANKThe Indiana ReviewThe Rumpus, and twice as a notable essay in Best American Essays.
