In this monthly workshop, we will experiment with monotype and drypoint techniques, two forms that have a wide range of image-making possibilities, We’ll be printing on our Praga 30″ x 48″ etching press. Ink and plates will be provided. Bring your own brushes, larger plates, stencils, colored inks and paper and or buy paper at Makers’ Mill. No previous printmaking experience necessary but all levels welcome!
This counts as an equipment training on the press, and you’ll be all set to work on your own anytime!

About the instructor: Jim Peters, painter and constructionist, has exhibited regularly in NYC at CDS Gallery and ACA Galleries, and in Boston and Provincetown, MA. He graduated from the US Naval Academy and MIT (Nuclear Engineering) before earning an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1977. Awards include Fellowships at Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown; Massachusetts Artists Grants (1985, 1988); Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Fellowship, and Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowships in 2002 and 2008. Peters has work in many collections world-wide including William Benton Museum, University of Connecticut, Flint Institute of Art, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NYC; he is a member of the Visual Arts Committee at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and currently teaches at Rhode Island School of Design.
